Leaf Peepers!!!

Since we do not have any trees, the boys wait patiently for some leaves to fall in our yard from our neighbor's trees. Ray spent so much time raking...and placing...leaves in a pile so that he and Reed could have fun jumping in them. He was a little disappointed in his pile, but decided that throwing the leaves up in the air is much more fun anyway!


Another favorite past time of these two is the Gator. They will drive around the yard for as long as I let them. Reed is so happy to be doing something with his big brother that he could honestly care less what it is. He imitates EVERYTHING Ray does...I know...scary...

Peek - a - boo Mommy!




Ray's class went to Bunnell farm in Litchfield for a field trip on Friday. I have lots of pictures, but decided not to post any of them with other people's kids in them that I do not really know. The place was beautiful, the animals were sweet, and the kids had a blast. After petting a cow, a rabbit and a horse, they boarded the wagon to the pumpkin patch to pick out their pumpkin. I watched Ray as he procedded to pick the smallest pumpkin in the patch. I was shocked because he usually has to have the biggest of everything. When he went to his teacher to give her his pumpkin he explained that he has chosen the smallest pumpkin in the patch for his baby brother. I melted.

We went to the Riverton fair and Ray enjoyed himself on all the rides. Reed and I chose to eat our way through the fair, while Ray dined on only ice cream. It is a very small fair, but there is LOTS of food there!

After a few licks with my assistance, Reed shoved my hand away and said "NO" Followed by "I do" as he grabbed the cone out of my hand. You can see that he ate the bottom out of the cone so he wore most of the ice cream, but he really enjoys doing things himself, so we let him!

The last rose of summer.

I also finally got to take a photo of the church in Litchfield during the fall. I have always wanted to do this, but never did. I wonder if this should have been on my bucket list?

Fun Fall Times!

It is so hard for me to believe that fall is here and winter is right around the corner...I'm NOT ready! I see the leaves changing colors, and while they are beautiful, I know that soon they will be gone and only bare branches will remain. One constant I CAN count on, is the crazy fun we have right here in our house! No matter the season or weather, things inside are pretty much the same year round.

One of my most favorite things right now is the interaction I am seeing between the boys. They love to play together and have now started to wrestle! They love to "splash" each other...mostly Reed jumping on Ray...and laugh until someone or both end up with the hiccupps! Ray also enjoys reading to his baby brother. Ray sits down and Reed back up into him and sits on his lap for story time. My heart melts to see them together.

I had wanted to post about all the rest of the things we did this summer, but there are just too many to mention. I decided instead to upload pictures of what we did and let the captions do the talking. I am hoping to not get this far behind again, but I'm sure it will happen!

Where does the time go????

I can't believe that time passes the way it does. Sometimes I feel like if I blink, I could miss something exciting happening...and those who know me understand that I don't like to miss a thing!

Saturday Ray had his first day of soccer. He loved it and has been showing us his "moves" ever since. I'm not really up on what soccer moves should look like, but to me, it looks like he paid attention and learned something. I suppose Daddy will have to fill me in about the rules of the game.

After soccer we went to the Harwinton fair. Mommy, Daddy, Ray, Reed, Mimi, Gramma Judy and our birthday boy Poppy all went and we had a really great time. I forgot my camera...I know...that NEVER happens to me, but I did snap a few on my cell. I'm a little disorganized lately! Ray had a blast on the rides and poor Reed had to watch from his stroller. He didn't mind though because, well...he never really minds anything! He was happy to eat, and look at the bunnies in the bunny barn.After that we ended up at dinner at the 99 restaurant. Reed LOVED his dinner of buttered pasta and broccoli, and finished with a very messy ice cream sandwich! Ray ate fries, popcorn and a sundae...nice!

It's too late for me to write anymore now, but I will try and follow up with another post that might be able to fill in the gaps between posts. O.k. the very large gaps between posts! I also need to learn more about what I am doing here. I see so much on other blogs and I have no clue how to do any of it myself.
